Highlights:

This package offers two days of privately guided trout fishing and adventure. There are few places more special to fish for oversized trout than Fiordland. With dozens of rivers and lakes to choose from, there are options for all skill levels in both fly and spin reel fishing. Cabot Lodge works with knowledgeable local guides who know every secret location to bring the best out of every fisherman and woman. All fishing licenses and equipment are provided.

Day One - Guests will be collected after breakfast by their private guide and transferred to the Waiau River, where their boat will await them to venture deep into the Fiordland National Park. Fishing on the Waiau River provides breathtaking scenery, as well as the thrill of the hunt for the prized Fiordland trout. Guests will enjoy lunch on a secluded beach in the National Park, before returning to the water and listening to nothing but the sound of flowing water underneath and the call of birds’ overhead.

Day Two - The adventure is ramped up a notch on day two, taking to the skies to experience Fiordland from the air. The day will begin with a morning fishing on the Waiau River, before a private float plane lands on the river, taking guests to the skies for a scenic flight over Doubtful Sound, soaking up Fiordland National Park by air. This is a fantastic way to experience Fiordland from the air, water and land all in one day.
